For topping up, the Q5 models need about 6 hours for a full recharge automatically heading back to the dock when the battery is low. You also get notifications when charging starts or completes via the Roborock app.

While smart navigation, customization and convenience matter, reliable cleaning results take the pie! In this section, we will assess how well the Roborock Q5 series performed across floor types dealing with common dirt varieties.

Hard Floors

The Roborock Q5 models come preloaded with the hard floor cleaning mode optimized for tiles, laminates and solid hardwood. To understand results, we spread a mixture of debris like crumbs, rice grains, sand and pet hair on our living room hardwood tiles followed by dispatching the Q5.

In a systematic back and forth pattern, the vacuum managed to suck up all loose mess completely with no traces left. Thanks to the floating brush design, it reached room edges and grooves smartly blowing collection into the dustbin.

Next, we used some leftover dried oatmeal blobs stuck on the tiles simulating fixed grime to check pickup consistency. The dual brushes loosened even 3-4 days old sticky residues with the 2700 Pa suction gobbling everything spotless.

Moving on to the plush high pile living room rug, we tracked deliberate muddy paw prints from a large dog. Along expected lines, the Q5 identified the rug immediately and switched to max suction diligently erasing muddy traces down to the base fibers without hassle.

We did find minimal treads around tighter corners where full contact was tricky. But a spot suction mode took care of residual spots indicating versatility across carpet types.

Pet Hair

Pet owners worry about stubborn furs and allergens accumulating inside homes lying unseen under furniture. So, our next focus was evaluating pet hair pickup using synthetic golden retriever-like fur to simulate shedding.
